I'm a photojournalist and Mindy and Jeremy aren't your typical wedding couple. We were a match made in heaven. They provided a lot of great photography moments during their Colony Club wedding in Detroit, Michigan. I wanted to showcase some of my best wedding photography of the Colony Club since this couple had a lot of personality to showcase. They had their first look before heading outside for wedding photos downtown Detroit at some of the more iconic places in the D. Their wedding ceremony took place at Detroit's historic Trinity Lutheran Church, one of my favorite of the historic churches downtown Detroit.Then we headed off to the Colony Club in Detroit. I photograph a lot of weddings at the Colony Club, and it's one of my favorite venues because of it's glamor, it's versatility and of course, their staff. Mindy and Jeremy are what you might call "goofballs" and they wear their emotions on their sleeves. I'm always happy and relieved when couples can kick back and actually enjoy their wedding days. This couple enjoyed the Hell out of their day! No one held back and the more fun they had, the more fun everyone had.

The Colony Club photographs quite well, but is a bit tricky when there is up lighting. It's a wedding venue that requires a bit more lighting expertise than a lot of the other venues in Detroit. Why is it that my favorite wedding photos in Detroit are often places that are the most challenging to light?!
