Favorite Planterra Wedding Photographer's Photos
from a Fun, Classic and Emotion Wedding
at The Planterra Conservatory
Join Sarah and Min's magical and emotional wedding at the Planterra Conservatory in West Bloomfield, Michigan. They had their first look before heading outside on the grounds of the conservatory for some wedding photos before their warm greenhouse ceremony back at the Planterra Conservatory in West Bloomfield. Sarah and Min had their dog join them for photos before the ceremony.

I've photographed a lot of weddings at the Planterra Conservatory before, and this one stood out as one of my favorite Planterra wedding photography shoots because of all the emotions the wedding brought out and also because it was the last day of August on a Labor Day weekend and it was unseasonably warm and hard to ignore the heat when it's usually around 20 degrees warmer in the Planterra greenhouse than it is outside! So you'll notice a LOT of photos of wedding guests fanning themselves to try to cool themselves.
The meeting of Min's Korean culture and Sarah's let loose family also made for interesting photos. There was a language barrier with many of the guests, but everyone had a blast. I love all the awkward dancing photos, the groom crying during the Planterra Conservatory wedding and the sparkler ceremony at the end of the night. Just a quick word about having a wedding send off with sparklers. I don't usually interfere with weddings. It's not my place and I'm more interested in reality than I am about perfection. But in this case, I kept asking their friends and family to move back. Partly because I was moving backwards as they walked through and I can't truly see where I'm going. But more importantly, the bride is wearing a 100% flammable dress that she cannot get out of quickly. She isn't always aware of where the dress starts and stops and all it would take would be one little ember to land on her dress for a real disaster to occur. So if you're planning a sparkler wedding photograph, have your guests prepped by the DJ (or photographer) inside where they can give instructions about safety AND do it at twilight when the sky is still that awesome cobalt blue. This was around 10 minutes too late and the crows is just too close for comfort!
