Thomas and Laura really worked hard to make ensure they were protected from Michigan’s terrible summer heat for their July wedding. Large rooms to get ready in at the fabulous Townsend Hotel helped keep things cool. Then we headed to the St. Louise de Marillac Catholic Church in Warren for a lovely, traditional wedding. They’d reserved a spot at the Detroit Public Library so they didn’t need to worry about the weather. Turns out their air conditioning isn’t terribly effective… especially on the second floor where all the photos were taken. Laura was up for anything and everything.This bride danced just about every song DJ Johnny Dutcher of Night Beat Entertainment spun. Thomas also danced up a storm at the Royalty House in Warren, Michigan. Thanks for all the “hot” pics, gang!

Tip for keeping cool while getting ready at a hotel: the more people you add into a room, the warmer it gets! Try to limit the number of people in the room as much as possible. Always ask for a lower floor. They higher up you are in a building, the less the air conditioning works!

Detroit Public Library Tip: Make sure to book at least TWO weeks in advance. They only take two bookings each day. It is DARK in there and their current photo policies state “No flash Photography”. Clearly they did let me use one flash, but know that you might not be able to use it which makes it VERY hard to get awesome photos there.
