Seriously Fun Business, Corporate and Website Photography
Looking to update your business's photography presence for print and digital platforms?
Keeping a contemporary, up-to-date website is key for attracting new customers and showing your current clientele that you're on the ball and keeping your business current. One of the best things you can quickly do is to show photos depicting your business and your staff using interesting and contemporary style photography. It's also essential for anyone who wants to keep a level of continuity of look between all their media platforms; social media, websites, business cards and print media. These days it's fairly easy to have your print and digital media mirror each other so you can keep your branding consistent. Clients and potential clients like to see GREAT photos of your business instead of cell phone images that often appear alongside your business when they Google your business. These are often taken by clients or a staff member, but they will not reflect the quality you've works so hard to cultivate for your business. Curating your photographic digital footprint lets you control what your clients see about you and your business in the best possible light. People love good photos of people. Seeing what you and your staff look like can really establish a sense of warmth and familiarity with your business before they even pick up the phone to call you.
Some businesses I photograph still prefer the more formal, traditional type of business head shots (like the financial sectors). I'm happy to come to your office and set up classic and formal head shots for your employees if that's your preference. Most companies recognize that the more current trend for businesses is to photograph your business and the employees in their natural surroundings. It looks more natural, more approachable and usually more consistent with contemporary branding. Some of my clients also want commercial product and building photos (like McCormick and Schmick's recently did) so they can show potential customers what their space looks like without having to rely on cell phone photos customers are submitting. I am able to set up a portable studio anywhere so your space looks its best in the photos for your website.
I have photographed all kinds of advertising campaigns for businesses large and small. I have also photographed personality filled business portraits for corporations, small businesses and political campaigns. One of the things that makes me unique is my advertising and marketing background from U of M. I also give you full rights to the images and provide you with plenty of options so you can substitute images in your ad campaigns as you see fit. I don't charge a fortune, so many of my business photography clients are repeat clients that I visit yearly (or twice annually) to update their staff and keep their branding look current. I can accomplish a LOT in an hour's worth of photography.

Tips For Great Business and Website Photography Sessions
Figure out what your goal is. Is this a total business branding overhaul? Are you just looking to update some of your staff photos? Looking to really create a fun, contemporary client experience? Do you need print and website digital media? Updates usually take an hour. If you're looking to start a website from scratch or completely rebrand or overhaul your website and print ad campaigns, that would take at least two hours.
Think about the time of year you're doing this. If you're looking for contemporary business head shot photography, consider doing it from mid May - early November when there are leaves on the trees and Michigan looks less formidable. I've ended up photographing a LOT of businesses in the middle of Michigan winters which means the employees freeze and the the settings look barren and more severe than you might think. If everything is indoors, schedule it during the winter. More of your employees will probably be around than having to work around summer vacation schedules. They are also more likely to not be freakishly tan!
This is a collaborative effort, so if you're looking for my advice as a veteran photographer, small business owner and lifestyle photographer, don't hesitate to ask. I've also photographed Presidents, Senators, members of Congress, Governors and just about any other kind of politician. I've photographed CEOs, company presidents and many more casual business meetings and events. I'm happy to accommodate your needs and delight when you use the heck out of the images I provide.
