One of the best perks of my job as a Michigan wedding and family photographer is that I often get to see my clients over and over again. Sometimes I shoot their engagement photos or boudoir photos before their wedding. And these days, I often get to see them after they’ve started having babies, either shooting their newborn baby photos, or in this case, taking a family photo once they’ve relocated back to Michigan.
So many of my wedding clients in the past 7 years have had to commute into the Metro Detroit area for their weddings (since finding jobs in Michigan has been so hard for so long). It’s so wonderful to finally see many of my past clients moving back home where they can raise their kids surrounded by family.
I’m curious by nature (hence the career as a photojournalist), so seeing how “my” couples personal stories and journeys have evolved brings me great joy.
I met Wiline and Kevin back in 2006 to shoot their engagement photos at Cranbrook (where his father worked) and I shot their wedding the following summer. It was a lovely backyard wedding with lots of happiness, lots of love and so much fun. Then they moved away and now they’re back. So we were able to shoot a set of fun, casual family photos with their two beautiful daughters in the same location I’d shot their wedding 6 years ago!
I thought you all might enjoy getting a peek at the evolution of a relationship and my photography as well!
