Steve and Sam’s Twin Lakes Golf Club Wedding
What made Sam and Steve’s Twin Lakes Golf Club wedding the most laid back wedding I’ve ever photographed? They went with the flow and let themselves get lost in each other.
Sam and Steve are perhaps the chillest couple I’ve ever worked with. They wanted to wait and see each other until the wedding. When the wedding was ready to go, the minutes ticked by with no bride. Turns out there were TWO wardrobe malfunctions. Everyone at this Twin Lakes Golf Course wedding gave the bride a lot of grace. Nobody wants to be late to a wedding, but dress disasters take precedence!
Getting Ready ~
With lots of fun, joy and a lot of help for what could have been a wedding dress disaster, everyone pitched in to get her to the “church” on time.
Also, although it looks like the bride’s father is watching her get dressed, he is actually in a reflection of a beveled mirror. So no, he’s NOT doing anything creepy.
Here Come The Bride ~
With a 25 minute delay and clouds starting to turn ominous, the tension was building until the bride arrived. Then the tears started to flow for every single guest. Laughter and sniffled could be heard all over the patio at Twin Lakes Golf Course in Oakland, Michigan. What a beautiful ceremony.
Time for Group Photo All Over the Twin Lakes Golf Course ~
After the delays, we only had 35 minutes to get all our photos done with a storm brewing threatening to cut our time even more. I was worried, but Twin Lakes Golf Club wedding golf cart driver made it happen.
Nothing like a little pressure to pull off some fun and moody photos. Samantha was nonplussed about the timing and breezed through it with her flair for nonchalance.
You can see the sweet connection between Sam and Steve, like them zooming along in the golf cart.
I also loved Steve’s daughter reaction to all that kissing going on.
Introducing For The First Time ~
More tears, all happy, I can assure you. The appreciation the bride and groom had for each other and the people they chose to surround themselves with was inspiring.
For those with sharp eyes… yes, the bride is doing a Mary Katherine Gallagher classic during our twilight session. After all their friends came out for a smoke break, I convinced a few of them to help create some interesting smoke swirls with mixed results and a lot of hilarity.
Steve and Sam handled all the pressure, the setbacks and the stressors with such ease they kept everyone around them in a happy, celebratory mood all day long.
