Meet Jayda, a Birmingham, Michigan senior and her photography session celebrating personality, artistry and a love of theater. She's a proud Queen of the Drama (department)!

Jayda is a theater kid through and through. She's also a dancer. She knows how to move and she's comfortable in front of a camera.

She was looking for dramatic photos to reflect her theatrical personality and myriad of expressions.

Jayda's a Groves High senior from Birmingham, Michigan who chose to do her senior session in the most artistic, dramatic location I know… downtown Detroit.

Super expressive and happy to showcase her grit and resilience, Jayda was happy to play in the colorful, theatrical and artistic area of Detroit, Michigan.

Once I knew we had a good variety of senior photos, we just played using the fading light to create interesting and unique senior photos. You'll see flares, rosy colors and a lot of added light to make the photos even more dramatic.

I really appreciated that Jayda was comfortable trying anything. During my senior sessions, I play with seniors. I take a TON of images. Not all of them are perfect, but I know I would want a good variety if I was the client. Eventually, seniors will just go along for the ride with me and the results can be magical. I'm never going for perfection, I'm going for authenticity, something a bit vulnerable and something that captures the senior during this teeny slice of time. I think Jayda and her playful, theater loving flare for drama was a perfect collaborator.
