Faith is one of my all time favorite high school seniors I've photographed for an hour's session. She's also the youngest at 16! Heading into her final year at Fraser High School, Faith looked like a completely different person in each of her senior pictures. She looked by turns sultry, beguiling, sweet and tough.
During our hour long senior session we were able to cover a lot of ground. Usually I don't drive to separate locations, but knowing Faith wanted her showcase her martial arts skills with the wall murals, we moved more quickly. What you can't tell from these photos (except maybe the last photo of Faith where she's playfully clawing at me in all her "fierceness" is that is was one of the hottest days of the year with blasting gusts of wet wind. It made her hair dance, but hardly cooled her down. I just adore these images. There is something in them that straddles her bridge from you girl to young lady. You can see in this series of senior photos that sometimes she looks like the girl she was and you definitely can see what she'll look like in a few years.
One of my favorite things about photographing high school seniors is that they are at a juncture in their life. It honestly shows up in their photos.
