Sherry and Joe’s Cherry Creek Golf Club Wedding Photography

The bride and groom had a wonderfully choreographed dance for their first dance so with the last light of the stormy day at Cherry Creek Golf Club I had them dance just a little bit longer as the summer Michigan sun went down.

The groom and groomsmen decided to surprise the wedding photographer by dressing/undressing like Chipendale dancers once they knew I was coming to shoot them getting ready at the Cherry Creek Golf Club in Shelby TWP, Michigan.

The groomsmen asked if they could “act like zombies”. I think they nailed it considered they didn’t have the proper make-up!

“I Do Brew”! Sheri and Joe created their own beer and labels for their very own home brewed beer. One of the guests at my table mistook the font to say “I No Brew”. While turning a fun hobby and personal interest into a creative and yummy guest favor, I really don’t think Joe and Sheri would have done this if their motto was “I No Brew”!

The best man completely loses it during the wedding. Was it the rain? The fireworks that sounded like gunshots that went off during the ceremony (Cherry Creek Golf Club was letting golfers know it was raining by sounding the artillery) or perhaps the dozens of geese that took off and were heading straight for the guests? Don’t know! But I love this photo!

Joe has a really large extended family and in order to get them all in a photo, I used the tall ladder he’d brought so his whole family could say “hi”.

I love this mother and son first dance photo. The groom is an only child and their closeness and the sentimentality of the day just shines through this photo taken at Cherry Creek Golf Club.

Last shot of the night (almost… that’s the flower girl one coming up!). The wedding party rushed the bride and groom for one last big group hug before it got dark.

Each wedding takes on a life of it’s own. Some weddings are about what happens, so weddings are about the weather, some are about the power of love! Sheri and Joe’s wedding was about fun! Sure, it could have been about the outdoor wedding that turned from a light drizzle to a steady shower during the ceremony or about the fireworks during the ceremony that sent a gaggle of geese flying straight at the ceremony. But this was all handles with humor, laughter and grace. It simply added to the light heartedness that Sheri and Joe surround themselves with. Their wedding and reception were held at the Cherry Creek Golf Club in Shelby Twp, Michigan. I loved this group!
