Libby and Joe’s Addison Oaks fall wedding was perfection. They were my ideal wedding clients. They let me do what I wanted, were happy to take suggestions, but most importantly, they kept to their top priority… having fun at their wedding!

Getting Ready ~

I usually start my wedding day taking photos of the details used in wedding photos. Some couples want these (after they’ve slaved over every single detail) and others don’t. I think it’s nice to have some of these just to document them as a huge part of your day.

The First Look ~

And now… for the “First Look”. This one was done privately in the garden of Addison Oaks where there ceremony would happen a few hours later. I often like to photograph first looks at the ceremony site. Couples who are looking for that “the first time we see each other walking down the aisle” moment can have that too.

Off to roam the grounds of Addison Oaks. This wedding venue always looks fantastic, but in fall, it really shines! This year the leaves turned really early, so we got lucky.

Last Minute Prep ~

And so, the waiting begins. I try to time it so the couple aren’t waiting around too long. Just enough time to rehydrate, eat some food, relax, refresh make up and get ready to rock and roll!

My goal is to have the wedding couple enjoy and participate in the cocktail hour for as long as they can. This is the only time during the wedding they can have real conversations with their guest.

Last Call On Wedding Night ~

This doesn’t happen all the time, but if I see something, I say something. On my way out the door, I saw this really cool, freaky sky and ran in to grab Joe and Libby for one last series of photos.
