I often don't know who my high school senior picture client is before the session. I took one glance at Adam and thought, "Oh boy are we going to have FUN"!
His only concern was about keeping his hair volume up to the max. Other than that, he was totally into saying yes to any and all of my artistic, unique and original senior photo ideas.
Then I saw a pile of vines languishing on the steps of an abandoned building, Adam's father and I began easing him into the vines to create a cool, compelling senior picture of him being held down by the vines on half of his body while the other half of him (and the building behind him) were squeaky clean. I've gone back and included the initial image of how weird it felt to have those vines on him. A picture's worth a thousand words, right? Once he realized what I was doing (and his father totally got it and helped), he relaxed and enjoyed playing the part of a Greek God in the 21st century.
I'm sure you can see Adam's joie de vive throughout this senior picture photography session. Is Adam typical of my senior guys? Not exactly, but you'd be surprised how willing many senior guys are to create their own unique experience for their senior photos even if they are coaxed (dragged) to their photo sessions. Adam had fun and that is super obvious from the photos.
