who wanted her senior photos to showcase creativity, beauty and her athleticism.



Victoria knew exactly what she wanted out of her senior photos.

In order to get some outdoor traditional, creative senior photos near Troy, MI, we started the session with several outfit changes.

Towards the end of her session, she changed into her favorite figure skating outfit, laced on an older pair of skates and was placed in the water. This was trickier than she thought. Balancing on a blade on ice is apparently less challenging than balancing on my submerged platform in water!

For the second hour of Victoria's session, we went to her ice rink in Rochester, MI for some classic senior pictures using figure skating poses that weren't terribly challenging. Then she started to try more challenging ice skating poses that were harder to hold and a bit sweat inducing.

I wanted to make sure I took these senior figure skating photos in natural light for a more sports photo feel and also totally lit for a more dramatic, senior photo type of look. Needless to say, Victoria tried all of her favorites, including a sit spin many times so I could adjust the lighting and play to get something amazing for her. One of both our favorites, was the very end of her two hour senior session when she landed on the ice and started laughing. A true authentic figure skating moment!
