I hope you enjoyed Olivia's creative, energy filled and unique senior photos.



Olivia is amazing! She's a self assured, poised Troy High senior who wanted to have her interests of dance, theater and color guard photographed creatively for her high school senior pictures.

Finding a location near Troy, MI that would help to showcase her talents and provide a dramatic backdrop for her photos that augmented her talents rather than overshadow them was an easy decision.

I personally like using the downtown Detroit area when I need dramatic, artistic backgrounds to create really unique and energy filled senior photography. Troy High students are typically very familiar with and comfortable with the Detroit area. Olivia wanted fall colors for some of her senior photos, so we did these in the fall. You can see peeks of fall colors in backgrounds and reflected in the windows of the buildings.

Dance is a huge passion for Olivia, so while I incorporated her dancer's body language into her photos and poses, we waited until her last series of pictures to really start moving. One of the tricky things about photographing seniors that are athletes is that they get pretty sweaty quickly. I usually need them to repeat a jump or action sequence or parts of a dance routine three times to ensure I'm capturing peak moments. You can see the last series of dance and color guard photos are taken on hard ground. That meant I couldn't ask Olivia to do a lot of jumping because I didn't want her to hurt herself. She knocked it out of the park. No telltale pink cheeks or sweat!

Olivia was able to do something most dancers and senior athletes can't do. She was able to smile through all that activity. Must be her theater training. Kudos to Olivia!
