My daughter got married recently and Marci was the photographer for the engagement photos and the wedding pictures. I did not know a photographer could capture not only the beauty of the wedding, but the emotions and joy we all experienced. The photos are spectacular in every way. And Marci was so easy and fun to work with. I can't recommend her highly enough!!
Wedding Wire Review from Laurie, Mother of the bride
🏳️🌈 Detroit LGBTQ Wedding Photographer Who Celebrates Love In All Its Glory
Hi, I’m Marci - a Detroit wedding photographer who knows every love story deserves to be celebrated with joy. I’m a proud ally, loud supporter of my LGBTQ+ couples, and the cheerful dork behind the camera who’ll help you feel relaxed, laugh freely, and capture the real connection between you two.
My own family is full of wonderful queer humans, so celebrating love in all its beautiful forms isn’t new to me - it’s personal. I’m here to make sure you feel comfortable, seen, and 100% yourselves on your wedding day.
One of the best moments of my life and career was attending a long planned wedding that happened on Friday, June 26th, 2015. Imagine all our shock when the brides were able to go to the courthouse and come to their ceremony with legal paperwork in hand. We were all so overcome by the rightness, the serendipity, the historic nature of the day. Not a dry eye in the room. Best day ever!
One of my favorite things about photographing LGBTQ+ weddings? The people who show up are so full of joy. Every friend and family member in the room is thrilled to celebrate your love - and that energy makes for the best photos imaginable.
Almost half my couples in the past few years identify as LGBTQ+, nonbinary, or gender-nonconforming. You’ll see them throughout my site because, as far as I’m concerned, no one puts Baby in the corner. So yeah, you all get your own gay gallery chock full of love, but I'm also celebrating your pics all over my website.
So what's different about photographing LGBTQ+ weddings? Um, nothing! My job is to help you feel relaxed, natural, and connected. I’ll guide you with your own body language so you fit together the way you do in real life - no stiff poses or awkward "first date" vibes.
If you’re a little camera shy or hesitant about PDA (and many of my couples are), don’t worry - I’ve got you. I’ll meet you where you are, help you relax, and make space for playfulness, affection, and real connection. By the end, you’ll forget the camera’s even there.
My secret sauce?
I steal you away for 10 quiet minutes near the end of the night - just the two of you, no audience, no pressure. I try to do most of my couples portraits away from the hoots and hollers from your well intentioned wedding guests. That’s when the magic happens. Those “epic portraits” everyone comments on? That’s when we create them.
I would be so, so honored to capture your love story in all its glory.
It was so much fun creating the gay wedding photo gallery, but check out the rest of my work and see how many of my other LGBTQ couples you can spot.

If you are considering booking Marci as your wedding photographer, do it!! She is professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and brings so much more than just her photography skills to her assignments. I am not always comfortable in front of a camera, but Marci really helps make the photography process relaxed and helped calm some nerves before the ceremony. Even months after my wedding, I still obsess over all my wedding photos for hours because they turned out so beautifully. I would 110% recommend Marci Curtis to anyone for any occasion!
