Timeless Wedding Photography Near Metro Detroit, Michigan

If you're searching for a Metro Detroit Timeless wedding photographer to capture all those fleeting behind the scenes moment, you've come to the right place. You have probably figure out by now, you astute potential client, you, that "timeless", "photojournalism", "documentary" and "storytelling" are all pretty much the same thing.

So why separate all these images into different portfolios? Easy. Lots of wedding couples are searching for a look and style they like, but aren't sure what to call it. The reason they're confused? Photographers and the wedding industry call things by different names all the time.

I personally think "timeless" means that your wedding photos won't look like they were taken during a certain time period. Currently, the "in" wedding photography looks are "dark and moody" and "bright and light". They are polar opposites of each other and I don't use either of those styles. To me, they technically look poorly exposed.

My style is true to life colors, natural looking (or as close to what the eye sees) with lots of energy and emotion to them. It's capturing real moments in real time and is very reality based. If you look back even 15 years ago when wedding photography went digital and processing the images was left up to photographer instead of a photo lab (don't worry if you have no idea what those were!) so the photographers started to enhance the photos afterwards using color filters.

From 2005-2010 a ton of photographers put this weird yellow filter on all the images and everything looked really, really weird. It was popular for about 5 years, so a lot of wedding photographs from that era also have that odd, yellow look to them. I find a lot of the processing photographers do look overly intentional and nothing like what colors you picked out with such care. It looks nothing like reality and it will date the photos very quickly to be taken in the 2020-God knows when the trend will be over era.

Timeless means just that. You can't pinpoint when photos were taken. The wedding photos I take aren't gimmicky or trendy, they are simply classics that will stand the test of time.

Thanks for looking through my wedding Timeless style wedding portfolio and hope you'll check out more galleries while you're here.

Marci is just incredible! She knows so much about weddings and how to make them run smoothly. When we got off track of the timeline she found ways to get us back on track, and she was so fun too! My favorite photos were the candids she got of our friends and family. She was helpful not just the day of but in the lead up as well. And the best part is that we got our photos back in only a week and they are absolutely beautiful!
