Looking for a Metro Detroit, Michigan wedding photographer who loves working with slightly older, mature, grown up couples? I've got your back with a lifetime of experience, tons of happy clients, cheery helpfulness and an endless supply of support and tips.
Marci was simply the best to work with, from start to finish! We had a lot of questions from the beginning, and she was always quick to respond with a lot of info to help us decided what we were looking for! On the day of our wedding, she was so easy going and help us keep our day moving! We have so many amazing pictures from getting ready to the sunset at a lake by our house. We have ended up with so many beautiful pictures of not just us but daughter too! I just can't say enough good things about Marci and her work, everything was just a dream!!
Wedding Planning for Couples Who are Slightly Older, Mature (ish), Grown Ups and Finding Love Again Later in Life
So you're ready to take the next gigantic step and get married. Congratulations! While everyone takes getting married seriously, there is something about getting married at a slightly older, more mature time in your life that is extra sweet.
Now that you're planning your wedding and realizing it's going to be the most expensive party you'll ever through, you're probably zeroing in on what your top priorities are. Bet you don't have many photos of the two of you that don't have one of your arms sticking out of the frame because they are selfies, right? If wedding photography is important to you, here's what I bring to your wedding day experience. That's it… experience! And a lot more too.
I stopped counting after 1,300 weddings about 8 years ago, so I think I'm not overstating it too much to say I am now a wedding expert. I'm unflappable, organized, will always advocate for you and manage to take great, memorable photos as well. What draws me to slightly older clients? Well, I am too. Our priorities are a bit different, our life stories are more fleshed out and I always feel my more mature clients have fought really hard to get to point where they're ready to settle down.
When you've been on your own forever looking for your perfect match or you've lost a partner through divorce or death, I know you're planning a wedding and a life together with intention. And, you're paying for it yourselves. It's a big deal!
Most of my slightly older couples also have a couple of different goals than the younger couples. You're probably looking to for your friends and family to have a great time AND be able to have some good connection time with them during the day, right? I can help create a timeline to maximize your priorities, capture all those behind the scene moments and knock out a couple of great epic portraits of the two of you without all the fuss and attention. No need to spend hours away from everyone. Most of my coverage is candid photojournalism and I efficiently get the portraits taken care of. Don't be too surprised if I ask the two of you to step out for some nice, quiet images during the reception for a break to reconnect with each other for 10 minutes.
Also, if you're blending a family, which is pretty common for my more more seasoned couples, I've got lots of ideas to help you integrate your "kids" into the ceremony and wedding day that acknowledges them, includes them and celebrates them as the intregal part of your marriage they will undoubtedly be.
Making your happy, helping along the way and keeping you in the moment is always my top priority too.
If you're wondering if you are indeed "slightly older" and I've offended you because you don't feel your age AT ALL, welcome to the club! I'm a grown ass adult who loves helping out my peers on what tends to be a stressful day no matter how much you try to keep it chill. If you want to see more of my style and samples of my work, I'm hoping you'll check out more galleries while you're here.

We couldn't be happier with our good luck in hiring Marci to photograph our wedding. She's a terrific photographer, first of all, who knows how to capture spontaneous candid photos of guests having fun as well as the more formal posed photographs and the ceremony itself. She's got a great eye for a memorable pic and is willing to do whatever it takes to capture her shot, even if it means getting herself a little dirty. But you can probably see her skill for yourself if you check out her portfolio. What you won't be able to see is how great Marci is to work with in every other way. She's thoroughly professional, punctual, and quick to respond to any questions you might have in the weeks leading up to your event. She's also so knowledgeable about weddings that she can act in some ways as an unofficial wedding planner, reminding you (or informing you for the first time) of a dozen things you can do to make your event go more smoothly so that you're more free to enjoy yourself on the day. She had terrific advice for us, ranging from how to wrangle relatives for photos to how to choose the kind of makeup that looks best under the lights. And to top all of this off, she's delightfully friendly and easygoing. Just having Marci in your corner is going to allow you to enjoy yourself more and focus on the most important parts of the day. And at the end of it you're going to have lots of amazing pictures! We recommend her unreservedly and enthusiastically.
